Skala för Helikopter på VM 2018

Med anledning av det nya regelverket i F4L för helikopterskala kommer man att försöka genomföra en tävling under Skala VM 2018 i Schweiz:

“Dear all,

On behalf of the Organizational Committee of the F4C World Championships in Meiringen next year, I would like to contact you and introduce the idea of a “promotion run” for the new FAI class F4L for RC scale helicopters.

During the F4C WM 2018, we make use of the outstanding infrastructure at the air base in Meiringen and invite RC scale helicopter pilots from around the world. Yet, it might be difficult within just a year to get a sufficient number of pilots with an adequate competition model, according to the new F4L rules, motivated to participate. We therefore ask your support to spread the idea to your network and in particular to the RC helicopter scene in your respective country. Do not hesitate to forward this mail to anybody you might find useful.

It is our intention to run a promotional competition according to the F4L rules as follows:

  • Category F4L – static and flight display according to FAI rules
  • Category Open – scale and semi-scale models with simplified static judgement (documentation of the original, e.g. 3-side view only) yet same flight display as F4L
  • Category Free (without static and flight judgement) for interested RC pilots to display their models and get in touch with the competition scene

For both categories “open” and “free”, the only restriction (according to general aviation law in Switzerland) is the 30kg (64.8lbs) take-off-limit for RC models. All types of engines as well as (metal) rotor blades are allowed.

In between of flight displays, we also plan to integrate various activities such as real size helicopter exhibition, RC helicopter flight school, RC helicopter exhibition boots. The RC models for competition will have their “hangar box” next to the F4C scene for visitors to get a “perfume” of RC scale helicopters.
